Hello everyone,
We are pleased to announce the successful nomination of Tamana Wahidi, an Afghan female debater, whose team won the first round at the Harvard Debate UK TOC International Tournament on January 24–25, 2026. She represents the Afghan Female Debate Team as a Student Ambassador for the ISDI (Harvard–UK Debate/TOC) Global Debate Project.
This ambassadorial role offers a valuable opportunity to amplify visibility for Afghan girls and young women through international engagement, including participation in Harvard–UK Debate/TOC’s global monthly debate meetings and their worldwide debate network. We strongly believe that, when given the chance, they can stand toe to toe with peers from around the world and bring pride to the beautiful country of Afghanistan.
Congratulations to Tamana Wahidi. We wish you continued success in this new role.
We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Tripp Rebrovick, Debate Coach at Harvard College and Director of the Harvard Debate Council; Mr. Dave Arnett, Director of Debate at the University of Kentucky; and Mr. Gabriel Lewis, International Outreach Coordinator for Speech and Debate at the University of Kentucky, for their kind support.
Warm regards,
