On the occasion of the International Day of Education, we are pleased to share additional news regarding Afghan girls and young women.
ISDI (Harvard–UK Debate/TOC) has granted us the opportunity to nominate an Afghan female debater to serve as the Student Ambassador representing the Afghan Female Debate Team. Details are as follows:
As an ISDI Student Ambassador, you will have the opportunity to:
· Participate in monthly online leadership and strategy sessions with peers and expert coaches
· Collaborate with a global network of student leaders and mentors
· Gain access to exclusive training and programming—including a summer leadership event at Harvard University
· Receive official recognition, a certificate of participation, and support in developing your leadership portfolio for future opportunities
· Help shape the future of speech and debate education worldwide
Student Ambassadors serve as liaisons between ISDI and their local communities by:
· Promoting speech & debate through outreach, recruitment, and mentorship
· Leading by example in preparation, conduct, and advocacy
· Contributing to discussions on equity, access, and global growth in speech & debate
· Actively participating in meetings, events, and planning sessions
· Assisting with regional programming and presenting at clinics or summits (when applicable)
We will select one Afghan female student from the Afghan Female Debate Team to nominate for this position.
