Following our recent successes, Vietnam Public Forum Academy (VPFA) decided to recruit members for the 2024 – 2025 “Vietnam Public Forum’s National Talented Youth Team” to compete in the Harvard Public Forum International Tournaments as well as other prestigious Public Forum debate tournaments in the Middle School division:
Total number of team members: 6
Conditions to apply
– Be a Middle School student (6th – 8th grade in the upcoming 2024 – 2025 school year) who is Vietnamese or a foreigner studying in Vietnam or other countries
– English proficiency’s required qualification: 8.0 IELTS for speaking or above (or equivalent
– Candidates with debate awards at prestigious national and international debate competitions will have an advantage when there are 2 or more candidates with equivalent English proficiency
Admission process
– Round 1: review applications to select the top 12 candidates for round 2
– Round 2: interview with the Public Forum Debate Coaches below to select 6 team members (Candidates will be given a “debate topic” 2 weeks in advance to research and prepare)
Benefits
– Participate in Public Forum training according to the team’s training program before each tournament (free of charge)
– Participate in Public Forum tournaments that the team registers for (costs for participating in tournaments will be paid by the members)
Responsibilities: Participate in all training and practice sessions
Public Forum Debate Coaches: coaches from different countries who have experience competing in and have received numerous awards at the Harvard Public Forum tournaments and other prestigious Public Forum debate tournaments
