Minh Nguyet (Moon) Le Tran

We extend our congratulations to Minh Nguyet (Moon) Le Tran, a 8th-grade student at Canadian International School in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on becoming an Ambassador for the Vietnam Nationwide Public Forum Debate Club, founded and develoved by Vietnam Public Forum Academy – an organization recognized by ISDI (Harvard and University of Kentucky Debate/TOC) and invited Speaker at the ASEAN Youth Volunteer Forum 2025.

Let us hear from Moon herself sharing her thoughts:

“Greetings to everyone,

I am Minh Nguyet (Moon), and I am currently in 8th grade. I am looking forward to becoming an Ambassador for Vietnam Nationwide Public Forum Debate Club.

I have experienced different types of debates, including WSDC, AP, BP, MUN, Public Speaking, and Public Forum. Out of all these formats, I particularly enjoy Public Forum as it combines two skills I cherish the most: public speaking and research.

My research for Public Forum debates has taught me how important it is to deeply analyze issues, gain new perspectives, and articulate them in a clear, confident manner. I would like to motivate others to take up similar challenges as I have—to investigate, reason, and discover new ideas through debating.

Debating requires critical thinking, communication and the ability to share ideas and voice with the world, and that is what I have been able to learn. This is the reason for my focus as an Ambassador — to spread the practice of debating in my school and create a positive and comprehensive debate culture. Following that, I would be thrilled to take this initiative to other schools, so that more students can reap the benefits of debating, irrespective of their circumstances.

I believe that to be an Ambassador is to be an impactful issue, to work towards allowing others to grow and develop in their confidence and learn. That is the impact I hope to achieve.

I appreciate your kind consideration of my application,” said Moon.

We wish Moon every success in her mission as an Ambassador, aiming to expand access to free Public Forum debate among young people in Ho Chi MInh City and across the entire country.
